Every business in France must receive e-invoices since 1 Sep 2026; SMEs and micro-businesses issue them from 1 Sep 2027. Diagnostic, timeline, 40 checks.
English-speaking owners, office managers and in-house bookkeepers of small businesses established in France; micro-entrepreneurs who invoice businesses; accountants (experts-comptables) and their teams who support English-speaking clients (Accounting firm / White label license to hand the adapted kit to clients).
Since 1 September 2026, every VAT-registered business established in France must receive its invoices through an approved platform. By 1 September 2027, small businesses must also issue them electronically and send their e-reporting. This kit gives you, in five steps and thirteen milestones, a scored diagnostic, a timeline aligned with the law, a grid to choose your platform without getting it wrong, a 40-point checklist, a budget compared with the fines, and Word templates to scope, communicate and run the process.
The France E-invoicing 2026–2027 Kit for small businesses – English edition is a professional pack, in English, with no macros, built by a project manager for English-speaking owners of businesses established in France (1 to 50 people: tradespeople, shops, services, construction, professional firms, micro-entrepreneurs who invoice businesses) and for their accountants. French rules are kept exactly as they are (dates, fines, e-reporting, approved platforms (plateformes agréées, PA), the public invoicing portal (PPF)), with the French terms in brackets so you can talk to your accountant, your platform and your customers; amounts are in euros. Customers and suppliers in France usually expect French: the two courtesy letters are supplied in French, ready to send, with their English translation.
Five steps, thirteen milestones, about 40 hours of internal work over four to six months: diagnose, decide with the accountant, sign up with a checked platform, set up and test (customer file, invoice details, ten test invoices, training), switch over and follow up (e-reporting, three-month review). Then a fifteen-minute quarterly review in front of the dashboard.
Every rule is cited with its official source and date (impots.gouv.fr, DGFiP FAQ and practical guide, October 2026 fact sheet for very small businesses, August 2026 table of e-reporting frequencies, Légifrance: article 1737 of the CGI and the 2026 Finance Act, decree of 7 October 2022, BOFiP, AFNOR standards). Official documents keep their French titles, with an English gloss. Texts checked on 17 October 2026; what may still change (fines, frequencies, list of platforms, standards) is flagged in dated boxes. This English edition is a working aid: in case of doubt, the French texts prevail.
No macros, no add-ins. Formulas only in calculated cells, drop-down lists, frozen panes, filters, conditional formatting, named ranges, A4 print areas. Formulas recalculated in Excel (0 error cells) and checked by an independent recalculation, carried out by the publisher, on the fictitious data (172 checks: diagnostic scores and gaps, timeline milestones and alerts, grid scores, checklist, budget, dashboard). Written with the help of AI and reviewed by a project manager.
